Over the last year, TNC has worked with individuals, local authorities, health trusts, voluntary organisations, community interest companies, carers groups, and user led organisations.

Two recently completed projects include a study into how arts/heritage projects can help in terms of social care outcomes and a programme of information events and training for carers in Leicestershire on self directed support.  In addition an ongoing area of work is helping organisations adapt to personalisation. There's also more information about this work below:

Arts/Heritage Study

This work was commissioned by Creative Health CIC. It consisted of an extensive study of evaluation options for arts/heritage projects , in respect of working with social care clients and the development of a detailed proposal regarding the future sustainability of such services. This work included the production of a range of personalised tools for services to use. Tony Nottingham spoke about the work at an arts and social care conference at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on May 18th 2011. He also led  an afternoon discussion amongst delegates on partnership opportunities for arts/heritage and social care services.

In respect of this work, Kate Gant, Director of Creative Health CIC said:

‘It was a pleasure to work with TNC. Our ideas were challenged in a way that was thought provoking, positive and productive. Most importantly of all though a range of useful tools were developed which will enable arts/heritage projects to successfully develop their offer to recipients of social care.’

Carers information events & training in Leicestershire

This work was jointly commissioned by Voluntary Action Leicestershire and Leicestershire County Council. Information events were held for carers at community venues throughout the county and additional more detailed training, for interested carers on support brokerage, was delivered in June 2011. In total 143 people attended events in 11 different locations. Even more encouraging is the resulting greater interest/understanding of self directed support and some carers now expressing an interest in going through the more detailed National Brokerage Network training programme.
